  • CargoWaves, New Rate Management Feature to Power Next-Generation Logistics in Dubai

We recently launched an all-new Freight Rate feature to bring real-time price transparency and smarter decision-making to inland logistics – completely transforming Dubai’s previously offline hauling ecosystem.

Hauliers or fleet owners can publish rates for specific routes and container types directly on CargoWaves, helping them get seen by more customers and win more bookings.

In turn, for the first time ever, shippers using Jebel Ali Port get rapid, real-time access to the earlier fragmented haulier network on a single platform. Now, viewing rates, comparing them and selecting the preferred haulier is possible instantly. As shippers can view rates when creating an order, digitalised truck booking orders can be sent directly to hauliers in a few minutes, speeding up the booking process.

Mohamed AbuHamra, COO Digital Technology at DP World GCC, said: “CargoWaves moves inland transport from fragmented and reactive to connected and planned, which is critical to building resilient, end-to-end supply chains in the region. With new technology, we can remove trade frictions and create even better outcomes for our customers, which is part and parcel of achieving our strategic objectives."

The new feature lays the groundwork for future enhancements such as ‘Spot Booking’ and complements the platform’s current AI-powered capability of intelligently matching containers to trucks, ensuring that a vehicle dropping off one load can pick up another nearby, instead of returning empty.

Together with the platform’s next-generation functions, which include assistance with selecting hauliers, terminal slot recommendation and delivery route optimisation, the Freight Rate feature adds transparency and predictability to port-to-warehouse freight movements across the UAE, powering Dubai’s vision for inland transportation.
