  • Fire Prevention and Protection Guidelines

As temperatures soar in the summer, it is important that all Jafza tenants take the necessary precautions to reduce fire risks.

To ensure safety, please follow these guidelines:

    1. Avoid accumulating waste materials under direct sunlight near to office / warehouse premises.
    2. Regularly check air conditioning units and all other electrical appliances, especially during summer identify and fix any issues.
    3. Never leave mobile phones charging overnight inside warehouses or offices.
    4. Don't leave exhaust fans running for long periods, especially during the summer.
    5. Ensure fire extinguishers are inspected regularly and in serviceable condition.
    6. Practice an emergency drill with your teams to familiarise them with emergency procedure during a fire incident.

Reporting procedure: Tenants must notify the authorities (EHS PCFC and Jafza) regarding any unsafe conditions or activities that pose a potential fire risk for timely intervention and corrective action.

Hot work operations must comply with the NFPA 51B standard for Fire Prevention During Welding, Cutting and Other Hot Work.

Each Jafza tenant must designate a Programme Manager responsible for the fire prevention programme to make sure it is carried out effectively.

No Smoking Policy: Must be strictly enforced inside warehouses, factory units and all applicable facilities within Jafza. An adequate number of no-smoking sign should be posted at prominent locations.

Wherever smoking is permitted, safe receptacles for smoking materials must be provided.

Handling & Storage of hazardous material: - Tenants must obtain approval from competent authority (EHS PCFC) for handling and storing hazardous materials, including the quantity to be stored.
